Graduate Graduate

Department of Chemical Engineering

Chemical engineers use chemistry with reaction, separation, material, electrochemical, biochemical and transport phenomena engineering to develop chemical processes that produce chemicals, chemical products and energy in an efficient and environmentally-sound manner. The Department of Chemical Engineering aims to educate students on many fundamental chemistries along with study in transport phenomena, material and energy balances, reaction engineering, staged-processes and molecular simulation sciences so that they will be able to create new clean chemical processes and products and develop original solutions to problems facing society.

Research topics are associated with energy-efficient combustion technologies, manufacturing processes for advanced materials, biomass conversion processes, material and chemical recycling processes, molecular simulation methods, polymer and fine-particle technologies, supercritical fluid technologies and catalytic conversion methods.
